Comprehensive Pediatric Epilepsy Program

The Division of Pediatric Neurology at UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital is distinguished for treating a large population of children with epilepsy. Both the pediatric epilepsy specialists and general pediatric neurologists treat children with first-time seizures and those with straightforward epilepsy syndromes. The pediatric epilepsy program, staffed by specially trained pediatric epileptologists, nurse practitioners, and nurses, provides leading-edge comprehensive therapies for children with intractable epilepsy. Some of the advanced therapeutic options offered by our program include epilepsy surgical evaluations and epilepsy surgery, ketogenic diet regimens, vagal nerve stimulation, and familiarity with the range of epilepsy medications, including the newest ones approved by the US Food and Drug Administration.
